Centrick Grows Building Safety Team with New Associate Director – Stewart Prescott

Centrick is delighted to introduce Stewart Prescott, who joined the business in September as Associate Director of Building Safety, and he’s already making a huge impact within our team.

Building safety is more than just a technical requirement for us; it’s at the heart of everything we do. That’s why Stewart’s addition to our growing Building Safety department is so important. His expertise further strengthens our ability to support clients, leaseholders, and residents as they navigate an increasingly complex and ever-changing landscape of building safety with clarity, confidence and practical guidance they can rely on.

Stewart brings a wealth of experience and an impressive track record gained across the industry. He’s been the driving force behind major national remediation projects and has delivered and managed national cladding and external wall remediation projects, focusing on the most complex building safety issues. Stewart has also been responsible for major funding programmes, managing works valued at more than £60 million in partnership with UK Government bodies and private developers. His background includes extensive regulatory and stakeholder engagement, working closely with Homes England, demonstrating a keen ability to manage compliance and risk while building strong, collaborative relationships across the sector.

Stewart will lead day to day operations of our Building Safety Department, reporting to Connor Scherer, Building Safety Director. Stewart will be vital in delivering our Building Safety Services, leading our internal teams who deliver Building Safety Case Reports, Building Remediation, Building Safety Management, Resident Engagement and Fire Door Inspections along with other statutory requirements.

Stewart has demonstrated a keen ability to manage compliance and risk, ensuring developments meet the legislative standards. His hands-on approach to project execution, combined with a strategic mindset, has allowed him to build and maintain strong relationships across the sector. Stewart is also a regular attendee at industry roundtable events to discuss regulatory change and the future of building safety, so we are sure many of our clients will get to know him in the near future.

Stewart commented on his new role:

“I couldn’t be more excited to be joining Centrick at such a pivotal time for the building safety sector. What stood out to me immediately is the team’s genuine passion for getting things right, it’s not just about compliance; it’s about making sure people feel safe and secure in their homes. I look forward to contributing my experience to help our clients, residents and leaseholders to support the continued growth of Centrick’s Building Safety division.”

Connor Scherer, Director of Building Safety at Centrick, added:

“It’s fantastic to have Stewart on board. His extensive experience across cladding remediation, Building Safety Act and stakeholder engagement brings even greater depth to our Building Safety team. Stewart has already proven to be a fantastic addition, and we’re confident his expertise will help us continue to deliver exceptional results for our clients.”
