Centrick has secured Government funding, which enables a further two cladding remediation projects to achieve on-site status, safeguarding residents and addressing fire safety risks at no personal cost to leaseholders. These latest approvals add to a growing national programme being managed by Centrick, with around £50 million worth of Cladding Safety Scheme projects currently under management at any one time along with over 20 developer pledge remediation projects under co-ordination.
The Cladding Safety Scheme, established in the aftermath of the Grenfell Tower tragedy, is designed to remove unsafe cladding from residential buildings, protect leaseholders from crippling costs, and restore confidence in the safety of affected homes.
Bridge House, Swindon
After a long period of working with the project team, Centrick Is proud that Bridge House has gone through Gateway 2 approval with the Building Safety Regulator, an essential stage under the Building Safety Act that confirms design and compliance readiness before remediation works commence on higher-risk buildings. Around 31% of the 2000+ applications are only approved by the regulator to-date. Work is now underway on the £3 million project, with the 41-week programme due to run through to May 2026.
Piccadilly Heights, Chesterfield
This project will see the removal of unsafe timber cladding across 61 apartments, replacing it with fully compliant materials, cavity barriers, and fire-stopping measures to eliminate hidden risks. Works are due to be completed before the end of the year.
Alongside these schemes, two further projects are due to commence on site before the end of 2025, with additional approvals expected to follow in 2026 and beyond. Centrick’s expanding pipeline highlights the organisation’s role as one of the UK’s most active delivery partners in building safety remediation.
Connor Scherer, Building Safety Director at Centrick, said:
Securing funding through the Cladding Safety Scheme is never straightforward, but each approval represents real peace of mind for residents who have faced years of uncertainty. Achieving Gateway 2 approval for Bridge House is a pivotal step and underlines the expertise of our supply chain in managing the complex regulatory process. With £50m of works under tender, completion or works and more heading to site this year, we’re making tangible progress on delivering safer homes nationwide across our portfolio
Phil Johns, Managing Director at Centrick, added:
Our focus is on delivering solutions that not only bring buildings in line with the latest safety standards but also remove the financial and emotional strain from leaseholders. These schemes, together with the projects in our wider pipeline, show the scale of progress being made and the impact that strong partnerships and careful delivery can achieve.
