It may seem like winter has been hanging around for a while, but Spring is just around the corner now, and with it comes MIPIM, perhaps one of the most exciting dates in the property industry calendar. The team here at Centrick have been frequent attendees of the event and will be travelling to Cannes again this year to connect with long-standing peers, hear from global property leaders and forge new connections with stakeholders, developers and clients across the industry. We’ll also be hosting a series of private, invite-only brunches and events throughout the conference to discuss trends, develop new partnerships and of course catch up with old friends!
What is MIPIM?
MIPIM (Le Marché International des Professionnels de L’immobilier) is an annual event held in Cannes, France, every March. The event takes place over four days and includes a variety of conference sessions and networking events aimed at professionals from all sectors of the international property industry. This year, the event will take place from 14th – 17th March at its usual venue, Palais des Festivals.
MIPIM is renowned for attracting the most influential global leaders in real estate and provides a platform for developers and property companies to showcase their offerings to potential partners and discover new opportunities for business success and growth.
What’s happening at MIPIM 2023?
This year’s MIPIM will host a series of conferences across six different stages allowing professionals from across the residential, commercial and industrial property sectors as well as private and institutional investors from over 80 countries to introduce their latest development projects and solutions whilst discussing new opportunities for partnerships and innovation. This year as ever there will be a variety of sessions covering topics from infrastructure, regeneration, sustainability and ESR through to residential property workshops and spotlight international focus discussions, where attendees will be able to ask industry influencers questions on their specialisms and talk to global real estate leaders about the future of real estate.
The expansive exhibition space, covering 18,500m2, will play host to more than 350 stands and 2,400 exhibitors, enabling over 20,000 attendees to browse and network at their leisure throughout the event. It will also include the brand new ‘Road to Zero’ area, where businesses offering services to help the industry achieve net zero will be showcasing their technologies.
Technology continues to be a key focus at MIPIM, and to support this further Propel by MIPIM has been set up as a dedicated four-day programme of lectures, exhibitions and networking events designed specifically for international property professionals looking to implement the latest technologies and business models within their sector.
To conclude the four-day conference, the prestigious annual MIPIM Awards Ceremony will take place to recognise businesses for their outstanding contributions to the global real estate industry. The awards celebrate the most visionary, useful and sustainable projects from across the sector, and include accolades for overall sustainability, economic contribution, originality and architectural qualities.
Networking Opportunities at MIPIM 2023
MIPIM officially kicks off on the 14th March with a welcome reception for delegates to reconnect and start to build their networks. This year will also see the launch of the brand new pre-MIPIM Co-living summit in partnership with Co-Liv. The summit which aims to bring together co-living professionals to share trends, research, opinion, opportunities and solutions will also address the role of co-living in the wider housing shortage. MIPIM also offers a targeted matchmaking service to connect you to new useful and relevant contacts with shared interests and goals.
No event of this scale would be complete without the opportunity to socialise in a more informal setting, and with a diverse selection of social events planned by MIPIM and external parties, there’s sure to be the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with likeminded individuals throughout the event.
